How many days do we need to stay in Georgia to get married?+
At minimum one day, and it can even be a Saturday or Sunday. One important detail: the apostille on the marriage certificate is issued on working days only (Monday to Friday). If the registration takes place on a weekday, the apostille can be submitted the same day with processing of 1/2/4/8 working days.
If we marry in Georgia, will other countries know about it?+
No, there is no automatic exchange of marriage data between Georgia and other countries.
Which date can we choose for the registration?+
If you only need the official marriage certificate without a ceremony — almost any date, as long as it is not an official holiday in Georgia. Registration is possible the same day if the application is submitted in the morning. On Saturdays and Sundays only wedding houses work, for ceremonial registration. If you have picked a special date, for example 20.07.26, registration without a ceremony can be arranged without queueing. For the ceremonial option it is better to book a slot in advance — in person or by power of attorney. A date can be booked up to 2 months ahead.
